A native of
Russia, Michael Miropolsky served on a principal violin position with
the Moscow State Symphony, performed with the Radio and Television
String Quartet, and conducted in many countries around the world. He
recorded internationally on ‘Melodia’ label.
Michael Miropolsky came to the United States in 1990 and has been
Assistant Principal Second Violin with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra,
and a featured soloist. Along with his numerous musical activities;
judging the competitions, extensive teaching, Mr. Miropolsky, who
strongly believes in the value and importance of musical education,
constantly doing presentations at schools and colleges. He is coaching
young musicians and orchestras, giving master classes, and performing as
guest conductor all across the state of Washington.
Michael Miropolsky was both founder and conductor of the Jewish
Community Center Chamber Orchestra, conductor of the Northwest School
Orchestra in Seattle, and served as a faculty member of the University
of Puget Sound. He was also a founder and conductor of the Seattle
Conservatory of Music Chamber Orchestra “Young Virtuosi”, building the
finest student group in the area. He released the group’s first CD, “The
Best of Young Virtuosi” in 2001.
In
1999 Michael Miropolsky founded the Seattle Violin Virtuosi - the unique
ensemble, which consists of 12 violins and a piano accompaniment, and
three years later, the Seattle Chamber Orchestra and serves as Music
Director for both organizations. He released with these groups seven
CD’s on the ‘Ambassador’ label. The groups earned immediate recognition
from the critics and the audience. The Seattle Times called these groups
“the best of both musical worlds: Russian tradition and American
excellence”.
In
2002, Michael Miropolsky was chosen to become a new Music Director of
the Cascade Symphony Orchestra. Since then, Mr. Miropolsky extended the
orchestra season and repertoire, and released the orchestra’s first CD,
‘Symphonic Treasures’ in 2007. In 2009 Michael Miropolsky was elected as
the Interim Music Director of the Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra. |
