Cascade Symphony Orchestra Scholarships
Cascade Symphony will award scholarships of $2,000 to $3,000 to qualified high school seniors from the Edmonds, Mukilteo, Northshore and Shoreline school districts. Applicants must plan to continue their musical studies in college but need not intend to major in music. Applicants must audition on an orchestral instrument (string, woodwind, brass or percussion.)

2018 Cascade Symphony Scholarship Winners
A scholarship in the amount of $2,000 was awarded to Jasmine Mikesell, Flute, from the Shoreline School District. She will be attendingthe University of Puget Sound in the fall and is considering a major in biochemistry.
A $2,000 scholarship was awarded to Reina Sato, Oboe, from the Shoreline School District. She will be attendingthe University of Washington where she is considering majoring in psychology.
A scholarship in the amount of $3,000 was awarded to Anna Soper, Viola, from the Shoreline School District. She will be attending Harvey Mudd College in Claremont California to study physics, and will probably minor in music at Pomona college.
A $3,000 scholarship was awarded to Chance Gompert, Bass Trombone, of the Edmonds School District. He will be attending Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana and intends to major in Trombone Performance
Edmonds School District’s Summer Music School
The Cascade Symphony Orchestra donated $1,000 in scholarship funds to Summer Music School each year since 2012. Summer Music School is sponsored by the Edmonds School District’s Visual and Performing Arts Department.
This exciting program offers an assortment of music performance and exploratory opportunities for students entering 5th through 12th grade.
The donation is in keeping with CSO’s educational mission of offering local students opportunities for musical development.
