Rossini’s exciting Overture to The Italian Girl in Algiers opens this concert, which concludes with Antonin Dvorak’s 4th Symphony. In between is music by 20th century British composer, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and clarinet soloist, Anders Peterson, performing Crusell’s remarkable Clarinet Concerto No. 2.

Anders Peterson

Anders Peterson is a Graduate student in clarinet performance at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music and a 2022 BMA graduate of USC Thornton. He is a member of the internationally acclaimed studio of Yehuda Gilad and an accomplished orchestral artist and soloist. Peterson graduated high school from the Interlochen Arts Academy in 2018, receiving the highly coveted Young Artist Award. In 2023, Peterson performed in Breckenridge, CO with the National Repertory Orchestra. He is a 2018 National YoungArts Finalist and a 2017 member of NYO-USA, performing in Carnegie Hall and touring Latin America. He has appeared as a soloist with the Minnesota Orchestra, Bloomington Symphony, and Dakota Valley Symphony Orchestra. Notable past teachers include Dr. Jun Qian, Scott Anderson, Emil Khudyev, Bryan Conger, Gabriel Campos-Zamora, Alexander Fiterstein, and David Howard.
